Many couples are concerned about the specific songs the band will perform. But the feel of the party and timing of the songs are also important. Generally, you want to trust the band to perform the appropriate material at the appropriate time. Keep in mind that you are looking to hire a band and not a D.J. so don’t try and lock the band into a “set in stone” song list. But… when you provide a list of requests, consider choosing songs according to the different phases of the event. For example, think about what you might like to hear as background music during the meal, or think about songs that will get your parents out of their seats, or which songs will really get things rockin’ near the end of the night. As a general rule when submitting a request list to your chosen Sydney Wedding Band, it’s better to focus more on what you’d like to hear than what you don’t want to hear, though it’s okay to list both. An experienced Sydney Wedding Band will know which songs from their repertoire can move and audience and also they know which songs they perform best. If there is a special song that you really want played on your wedding day, ask if the band would learn it. Many wedding bands will learn one or two songs for your wedding.
